Where has the time gone?! Today, 2/11/17, marks our three year liver transplant anniversary. Although at times it seems like a lifetime ago, in reality it really hasn’t been that long since we were anxiously waiting in pre-op, excited to embark on the next chapter of our lives. The gratitude we feel today is due to the love and support we continue to be surrounded by, and we thought today would be a great opportunity to share some updates with you.
Oftentimes it takes a life-changing experience to realize that your path in life is to give back to others. Upon this realization, Cameron decided to do just that, and was recently accepted to Nursing School. Since his acceptance, he’s been focused on working toward his degree, so he can one day provide the same care he - over the last decade and to this day - has received. I’m extremely proud of my younger brother and am confident that he’s going to be an exceptional caregiver, especially given his own experience as a patient.
I myself have some exciting news to share as well. While I continue teaching middle school technology and coaching high school ice hockey, on New Year's Eve I asked the love of my life to marry me. Spoiler alert: she said yes! We’re now planning for a spring 2018 wedding.
As for The Wave Set, Cameron and I are excited to be releasing our full-length documentary this April, as we celebrate our shared birthday, and as people all over the world celebrate Organ Donor Awareness Month. We hope that you’ll celebrate with us and continue to share our journey with your friends, family members, and even strangers. Be on the lookout come April!
Thank you again for your continued love and support, and for helping to make our three year anniversary the best one yet.
